WRITER/DIRECTOR
Courtney Harrison is a Naarm/Melbourne-based filmmaker originally from the sunny suburb of Frankston. Her passion for storytelling blossomed at the age of 15, sparking a lifelong creative journey.
Courtney holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Creative Writing from the prestigious University of Melbourne. During her studies, she enriched her craft by completing a summer course at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan, where she explored the nuances of storytelling through the lens of Italian cinema.
In 2022, Courtney earned a Master of Film and Television (Narrative) from the Victorian College of the Arts, where her graduating film, Rained Out, was selected for the Sydney Women’s International Film Festival.
In November 2024, Courtney completed her fifth short film, fifteen, which will make its festival debut in 2025.
Alongside her filmmaking, Courtney works as a freelance script supervisor. Her extensive experience includes contributions to feature films such as I Fall to Pieces (dir. Charles Leversha) and Interloper (dir. Nabil Chowdhary), as well as numerous short films, including Cracked (dir. Monty Callen), Apartment 42 (dir. Ross Dwyer), Anna (dir. Stephen Di Gravio), Their American Dream (dir. Darrin McKean), and Likes (dir. Sheena Reyes).
